ELIZABETHAN Link Up FC were delighted to hand a Christmas boost to North-East based mental health support group ManChat.
Following the tragic passing of our player Chris Beedie in April 2020, the club decided to bear ManChat's logo on the front of this seasons' jerseys, and for the first time ever, opened up jersey sales to the public.
Over 70 jerseys were sold in the distinctive yellow and blue stripes in a throwback to the club's formative years.
As a result the club have donated £680 to ManChat from the sales of the jerseys, with additional proceeds going towards a framed shirt signed by this years' title winning team, which also bears an inscription to Chris in the way of a memorial and takes pride of place in the Elizabethan Lounge.
Of course, this fundraising total would not have been possible without the Lizzie supporters and the Fraserburgh community.
Both ourselves and ManChat are incredibly grateful for your support.
The money has helped secure the hire of a venue for ManChat's meetings for the next two months, which can help up to 60 men struggling with mental health better themselves - and potentially save a life.
