League 2
Again it was a brilliant evening for football and the pitch seemed to be in decent condition. As with last weeks game, it was equally important for Ugie to get something out this game. The away side started the more confident and had some early possession in our half, as Ugie began to settle into the game Methlick landed a sucker punch and took the lead midway through the first half. Ugie then managed to get an equaliser when Mark Thompson’s through ball found Ryan Cordiner coming in from the right to strike a lovely shot past the Methlick keeper. A few more chances followed for both sides but first half ended all square. The second half started and it was pretty much end to end stuff from both teams playing very open football, however Ugie took the lead when Scott Donald’s pass sent Denis Smith clear of the defence to net for 2-1. Ugie continued to press and extended their lead when again Scott Donald’s pass out wide found Ryan Cordiner in acres of space, continued his run into the box and finished for 3-1 Ugie. Methlich didn’t sit back and started to put Ugie under pressure, this paid off for them when a through ball was volleyed over over our keeper to make it 3-2. A nervy ending for Ugie, with Methlick hitting the bar and having a few corners and free kicks, but our defence stayed resolute and managed to see out the win.

Thought everybody gelled well today, the defence was strong, the midfield was very creative and the forwards put in a great shift, well done everybody.
